(creative biography)

 

Vazgen was born on July 5, 1978 in Yerevan (Armenia).

He graduated from the Yerevan State Conservatoire after Komitas with a diploma with distinction. His specialization was in two fields: “percussion instruments” (1995-2000, class of Professor S.K. Nersisyan) and “solo singing” (1997-2005, class of the Honoured Artist of Armenia Professor V.A. Arutyunyan).

In 2000-2002 he served in the Armenian Army where he performed in an orchestra (percussion instruments) and as a soloist singer.

In 2002 he finished post-graduate studies of the Yerevan State Conservatoire after Komitas (specialization – “percussion instruments”).

In 2002-2004 he was the soloist of the choir of the Saint Almighty Blessed Virgin at the Ararat Eparchy of the Armenian Apostolic Church; he also taught at the Yerevan State Conservatoire after Komitas.

In September 2004 he became a Laureate of the First Republican Competition of Young Opera Singers after T. Shakhnazaryan in Yerevan.

From 2004 till to date he is the soloist of the Opera Studio at the Yerevan State Conservatoire after Komitas.

In 2004 he started working at the State Opera and Ballet House of Armenia after Spendiaryan. From 2005 he has been the soloist of this Theater.

In July 2005 he was invited to Moscow where he took part in vocal seminars and master classes of the Creative Workshop of the Charity Foundation after P. Lissician.

 

These days Vazgen Ghazaryan gives many concerts, which are always successful. He performed in Armenia, Russia (in Suzdal, Ivanovo, Shuya, Moscow at the “Academic” Concert Hall, MDM, Museum of Shalyapin) as well as abroad in France, Hungary, Austria, Turkey.

Vazgen actively collaborates with leading music groups of Armenia and Russia (the State Chamber Choir and Pop and Symphony Orchestra of Armenia Radio and Television, Moscow Orchestra after Silantiev, etc.). He also participates in joint concerts with famous Armenian and Russian musicians.

The repertoire performed by Vazgen is big and diverse. The most important pieces of his repertoire are choral parts from operas (Basilio from “Barber of Seville” by Rossini, Great Inquisitor from “Don Carlo” by Verdi, Konchak from “Prince Igor” by Borodin), arias, romances and songs of European, Russian and Armenian composers.

The specificity of his voice, natural gifts, artistry and professionalism of the musician have been highly appreciated by different specialists.
